RacquetBall Fanatics

When you step into the court you can smell the rubber on the hardwood floors and the stench of sweat. It may not sound pleasing to the average person, but for the people who love the game, they will tell you different.

I started playing when I was 19 years of age. I was a beginner in the sport, and always got beat by someone who was a lot better then me. After playing for months on end, I beat that person for the first time. It was a feeling of satisfaction I could not describe. It was about 2 years that I played and then stopped playing for over 7 years.

Now, I'm in deep with racquetball again. I have improved my game tremendously and hope to keep on advancing.

Why this sport is fun:

  • Get to compete against different players from different areas of the U.S
  • It is very competitive, if your that type of person
  • Get to travel to other cities
  • Always able to keep working on your technique
  • Good way to socialize and meet new people
  • One of the fastest paced sport you will ever play
  • Great fitness for your body

With speeds of a ball traveling 100's of miles per hour, it will definitely get your heart pumping and your adrenaline rushing. It is also a sport that is rarely talked about and doesn't get enough recognition. If you ever meet anyone that plays the sport regularly, you can tell they are die hard about it.

Racquetball Tips:

  • Make sure you ALWAYS keep your eye on the ball! Very important when playing .
  • Work on drilling more then you play.
  • Ball placement is key to getting pressure on your opponent.
  • Work on your ceiling shots.
  • Always have your racquet in up and ready positions when receiving the shot.
  • Warming up before a game is important.
  • Patience in waiting to see where the ball is going, before hitting.
  • Center court position will move your game up tremendously.
